WCPSS Child Nutrition Services has been assured by our Commodity Distributor and our Grocery Distributor that WCPSS has not received any King Nut Peanut Butter. To be overly cautious for our customers, the cafeterias will no longer serve peanut butter and jelly sandwiches or Little Debbie Nutty Bars until the recall is complete.

Wake County Kindergarten Eligibility Date Changes for the 2009-10 School Year
This is probably old news to you by now, but just in case you haven't heard, here's the information (taken from the WCPSS website):
The State of North Carolina has made changes to the eligibility dates for children entering kindergarten. Beginning with the 2009-10 school year, students attending kindergarten must be 5 years of age on or before August 31, 2009.
This is a change to the current Oct. 16 cut-off date. Gov. Mike Easley signed House Bill 150 last year, which modified G.S. 115C-364 to become effective with the 2009-10 school year.
Information about kindergarten registration is available on this Web site: http://www.wcpss.net/newcomer/getting-started/registration/kindergarten.html.
Provisions are available for Kindergarten Early Entry for academically gifted students who are 4 years old by April 16 and demonstrate an extraordinary level of academic ability and maturity. Please be aware the guidelines for Kindergarten Early Entry are very stringent: http://www.wcpss.net/isd/elementary/lang_arts/kindergarten/.
